All of our activities have a positive impact on the protection of seagrass meadows and on the employability of women in the Sado estuary’s fishing community.
NGO for Development
We are an ONGD. We cooperate with projects that support women and seagrass meadows in Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOP communities).
ADVOCACY
We develop recommendations to support maintenance plans and political decisions that recognise the value of blue carbon ecosystems and promote their restoration.
VOLUNTEERING FOR COMPANIES
A program with a positive impact: cleaning the estuary, changing behaviours and listening to fisherwomen’s stories; these activities help raise awareness for the issue of marine litter among the Sado Estuary’s fishing community, whilst promoting social innovation and the value of local ecosystems.
SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM
Mapping and monitoring the seagrass meadows of the Sado Estuary, together with fisherwomen, the scientific community and Ocean Alive Camp’s students.
