The Ponta do Adoxe restoration project targets 2 main issues: first, the lack of recognition of the value of seagrass meadows and, second, the harmful boating practices that affect these ecosystems. With this project, we hope to foster long-lasting behaviour changes among beach goers and boat owners, towards the protection of the seagrass meadows. During the first year of the project we aim to advocate for best practices through marine education campaigns. To ensure sustainability, we are engaging local authorities, as well as members of the scientific community, in order to raise the level of protection of the Ponta do Adoxe seagrass meadow and to create specific management measures.
